Frequently Asked Questions

If you have additional questions, please text (704) 605-7993.

When is the best time for 3D/4D images?

For optimal images, 27-32 weeks is recommended. 28 weeks being the best time, especially with an anterior placenta. There are many factors that play a role in optimal images; including but not limited to, placental location, mother’s body habitus, baby’s position, and amount of amniotic fluid. If you are over 32 weeks, please be aware that baby may be too squished in and positioned within pelvis and face images are much harder to capture.

How many additional people can come to my session?

6-8 people fit comfortably. This is an exciting time for families and friends and they are welcome to join; however, please make sure your party is there for mother and baby. A crowd can lessen the experience significantly with chatter and distraction. If you would like to invite more, please send a quick text to allow our sonographer to be prepared for your party. **PLEASE NOTE** Babies hide with a crowd! Baby can feel their mom’s anxiety and hide almost every time. If you want to have the best experience, please make sure you are comfortable with every person attending. ALSO, there will be NO RE-SCAN offered if you bring in more than 8 people.

How early can I receive an ultrasound?

We offer ultrasound scans beginning at 8 weeks. Since we perform transabdominal scans only, we are limited on the ability to visualize a baby with a heartbeat prior to 8 weeks. Transvaginal scans are offered by a medical provider only.

Is video allowed?

No, video is not allowed. Mom will receive a video of the entire session to her phone, through our app. Please make your party aware that video is not allowed and you can share video and images once the session is complete. This is the perfect time to be present and enjoy the experience. If someone would like to record a short clip, please let the sonographer know and we will be silent. The sonographer’s voice cannot be recorded.

When can I find out the gender of my baby?

We offer gender confirmation at 15 weeks by ultrasound. We do not offer gender blood testing.

Twins! Is there anything special I need to do if I'm expecting twins?

Please notify us prior to the visit that you are expecting twins. You can do this by either sending a text, or online while making your appointment; simply put “twins” in the section asking “How many weeks will you be at time of appointment?” For optimal face views, please schedule between 27-30 weeks of gestation, they run out of room quick!! Please be aware, depending on the babies positions, one twin may not be visualized. Our sonographers will do their best to capture both twins; however, sometimes it is not attainable. Lastly, there is a $20 additional fee for twins.

Do you offer diagnostic ultrasound?

No, we offer ultrasound for entertainment only. All moms must be under the care of a physician or medical provider. We do not offer diagnostic ultrasounds. If you are under the care of a midwife and are having a home birth, please have a midwife contact me directly.

Are children allowed?

Of course! Children are always welcome. There are toys available if they get bored (which they usually do).

Are re-scans offered?

Re-scans are offered at the sonographer’s discretion only. Our sonographers do their best to capture the best images possible, but sometimes it is not attainable. There are many factors that allow optimal views of the baby. If we feel we can get better images at another time, one complimentary re-scan will be offered. *PLEASE NOTE* No re-scans will be offered if you are 32+ weeks, we are able to capture more than three images of face, an entire session is complete, more than 8 people are in attendance, or the sonographer feels better images are not feasible.

What can I do if I'm further than 32 weeks pregnant?

If you are further along than 32 weeks, choose our last peek package. It is not guaranteed that we will be able to see your baby’s sweet face, but we sure can try! After 32 weeks, baby’s tend to be within pelvis or too big to see their face. However, we’ve gotten beautiful images as late as 38 weeks. It completely depends on the baby’s position! Please be aware that we may not be able to capture any cute pictures, but we will always try.

Do we offer gender confirmation through blood work?

No, we are able to confirm gender at 15 weeks by ultrasound only.
